Description:

This General Electric 5Y3GT NOS NIB, of American production dating approximately to the 1960s, is a vintage rectifier of particular interest, preserved in its original GE box. The construction with gray plates, halo getter, GT bulb and octal base reflects the solid General Electric production tradition of the era.

The results obtained on the Funke W19 are excellent: the two sections measured 95 mA and 93 mA respectively, against a 100% average value of 77.5 mA. The emission is therefore well above the reference, confirming a very strong, stable, and fully efficient tube, despite the natural cosmetic signs due to long-term storage.

The difference of just 2 mA between the two sections also highlights an excellent internal balance, a quality that is particularly important in a dual-plate rectifier because it promotes uniform power supply operation. The tests also confirmed the total absence of short circuits and gas.

The 5Y3GT is widely used in guitar amplifier power supplies, radio devices, hi-fi systems, and vintage tube electronics. It can also be used in equipment designed for the equivalent 5Z2P rectifier, after verifying the specifications provided by the manufacturer.

A GE NOS in original box that combines authentic American construction, exceptionally high emission, and optimally balanced sections. The external markings are worn by time, but the documented electrical performance tells a very different story: a vigorous, reliable tube ready to be used in a quality piece of equipment.
