Description

Valuable 12AX7 / ECC83 AMPEREX Bugle Boy mC6, authentic Philips Heerlen Made in Holland 1958 production, featuring the sought-after Long Plates with Foil Getter construction, one of the most appreciated configurations among early Dutch ECC83s and particularly interesting for enthusiasts of high-level vintage European tubes.

The engraved code mC6 Δ8G precisely identifies this historical production: Δ indicates the Philips factory in Heerlen, Holland, while 8G places manufacturing in July 1958. The famous Amperex Bugle Boy branding, combined with the Long Plates and Foil Getter of early Heerlen productions, makes this example particularly sought after for both audio use and its collectible interest.

The tube has been carefully tested in our laboratory using the Amplitrex AT-1000 Tube Tester, obtaining a STRONG rating, with Gm 1200 / Ia 0.9 mA and Gm 1400 / Ia 1.0 mA values. The sections show good overall balance, and the emission is strong, regular, and stable.

It has also passed a 48-hour Burn-in / Stability Test and has been selected for Low Noise & Microphonics, a particularly important characteristic for a high-gain ECC83. It is therefore suitable for V1 and the most sensitive audio stages, as well as for a wide range of hi-fi and instrumental applications. No shorts, gas, or other anomalies were detected.

Sonically, the late 1950s Amperex Bugle Boy Long Plates Heerlen are particularly appreciated for a rich, open, and musical reproduction, with natural and harmonically complex mids, articulated bass, and airy, detailed high frequencies without being aggressive. The presentation is engaging and three-dimensional, with a broad and well-focused soundstage: characteristics that have made these early Heerlen productions among the most desired European vintage ECC83s.

Ideal for hi-fi preamplifiers, phono stages, integrated amplifiers, line stages, DACs and tube buffers, and guitar amplifiers compatible with 12AX7 / ECC83, especially when seeking the refined character of early Philips/Amperex Dutch productions.

The tube is Vintage, carefully tested, and fully functional. The aesthetic condition is good, with partially eroded but still legible markings and a well-preserved tube body. It comes in our custom box for optimal protection.

A sought-after AMPEREX Bugle Boy mC6 12AX7 / ECC83 Long Plates Foil Getter Heerlen from 1958, genuinely tested and selected by Vacuum Tubes Treasures, ideal for those who desire an authentic 1950s Dutch ECC83 that is strong, Low Noise & Microphonics, and with the prestigious Long Plates/Foil Getter construction of early Heerlen productions.
