Description:

Precious 12AU7 / ECC82 Mullard Mitcham k61, produced in Great Britain in 1960 and characterized by the classic Short Plates with Halo Getter construction, one of the most appreciated configurations of British Mullard production.

The manufacturing code k61 R0A4 identifies Mullard Mitcham production, belonging to the historic English manufacturer that helped make the ECC82 one of the most sought-after tubes in hi-fi and professional fields. The internal construction is fully consistent with Mullard production of the period, known for material quality, stability, and long operational life.

The tube underwent 48 hours of burn-in / stability test and was subsequently tested in our laboratory using an Amplitrex AT-1000 Tube Tester, achieving a VERY STRONG classification. The two sections show excellent balance, and the tube was found to be Low Noise & Microphonics, with stable electrical behavior and performance comparable to that of an NOS specimen.

Sonically, Mullard ECC82s from this period are appreciated for rich, fluid, and natural reproduction, with full and well-controlled bass, rich and harmonically dense mids, refined and never aggressive high frequencies, and a wide, stable, and three-dimensional soundstage. The overall character is musical and engaging, with that typical combination of warmth, depth, and naturalness that made British Mullard production famous.

Ideal for hi-fi preamplifiers, driver stages, phase inverters, tube DACs, headphone amplifiers, and instrumental applications compatible with 12AU7 / ECC82. Thanks to the Low Noise & Microphonics selection and well-balanced sections, it is particularly interesting for sensitive stages and applications where uniformity and stability are important.

The tube is Vintage, carefully tested, and fully functional. Aesthetic conditions are good, with partially eroded but still legible markings and the tube body in good overall condition.

An authentic 1960 Mullard Mitcham k61, truly tested and selected by Vacuum Tubes Treasures, ideal for those seeking a strong, quiet vintage British ECC82 with performance close to that of an NOS tube.
