Description:

This 5Y3GT / 5Z2P RCA NOS is a prestigious rectifier tube of authentic American production, manufactured in July 1964, as indicated by the two-letter RCA code AF. Built by the Radio Corporation of America, it features the sought-after configuration with black plates, square getter, GT bulb, and octal base, representative of RCA's historic manufacturing quality.

The tube is intended for power supply stages designed for the 5Y3GT and can also be used in equipment compatible with the 5Z2P rectifier, offering a refined NOS Made in USA alternative. It is particularly suitable for hi-fi amplifiers, guitar amplifiers, radios, receivers, and other tube equipment that use this family of rectifiers.

Professionally tested with the Funke W19, it delivered exceptional values of 98 mA and 102 mA, significantly higher than the reference average of 77.5 mA. The result confirms a very strong, stable, and authoritative emission, without fluctuations, short circuits, or the presence of gas.

The small difference of only 4 mA between the two plates also highlights an excellent electrical balance. This uniformity promotes smooth and reliable rectification, making the specimen particularly interesting for equipment requiring power supply stage stability and an abundant emission reserve.

The RCA markings are clearly legible and the tube body is in very good cosmetic condition, with only slight signs consistent with age. The specimen fully retains the charm of vintage American production and has been verified as perfectly operational.

An RCA NOS with exceptional electrical performance, capable of combining Black Plate construction, a sought-after Square Getter, emission well above the reference, and well-aligned sections: a high-quality choice for restorations, tube rolling, and equipment compatible with 5Y3GT or 5Z2P.
