JG-5751 GE NOS Gray Plates Disc Getter Tested Tube Made in USA '65

Description:

The General Electric JG-5751 , produced in the United States in 1965, is a military-grade double triode tube belonging to the 12AX7 family, but with a lower gain factor .
This feature makes it particularly appreciated in the musical field for its ability to manage the gain , increase the headroom and make the amplifier more controllable and playable.

The Gray Plates construction with Disc Getter is typical of GE productions of the mid-60s, known for reliability, stability and balanced sound behavior.
It is a valve that does not seek spectacular effect, but works on feel , dynamics and response to touch.

Sound characteristics

Low end: Dry and controlled, with a solid, well-defined bass that maintains order even in sensitive circuits. Ideal for providing greater control without weighing down the sound.

Midrange: Clear and readable, with a cleaner setup than a traditional 12AX7. The mids remain present but never intrusive, favoring articulation and intelligibility.

Highs: Clean and smooth, with a natural extension that avoids harshness. The highs remain clear even at high volumes, contributing to a more relaxed and manageable sound.

Dynamics and response: The real strength of the 5751: more headroom, progressive response and less early compression.
The result is a more controllable amplifier that better follows the player's touch and enhances the player's dynamics.

🎸 Use in Musical Instrument Amplifiers

Particularly suitable for:

  • reduce the gain in amplifiers that are too powerful
  • V1 position to increase headroom and control
  • blues, jazz, dynamic cleans and soft crunch

Highly appreciated in Fender , Mesa Boogie amplifiers and boutique circuits, where it allows you to tame the preamp without distorting its character .

  • ATTENTION PLEASE

Please understand that the writing on the glass of vintage valves has become very delicate over the years and comes off easily. You must handle them with extreme care to avoid this.
