JAN 6L6WGB PHILIPS ECG Matched Quad Gray Plates Side Halo Getter AMPLITREX Tested – Same Date Code – NOS NIB

Made in USA – Military Grade – Matched & Balanced Quad

Description:

This matched quartet of 6L6WGB Philips ECGs represents one of the most reliable and musical US military versions ever produced.
Made in the Philips ECG factories to JAN (Joint Army-Navy) specifications, these valves combine the construction robustness of the military world with the timbral precision typical of the American school.

The gray plates and side halo getter configuration ensures thermal stability, quietness and linear response.
All four units share the same production code , a sign of perfect batch uniformity and consistent electrical characteristics.
Tested on Amplitrex AT-1000 , they provided excellent results, with full output and impeccable balance between the tubes in the set.

Timbre characteristics and sound description

  • Bass: Authoritative and well-controlled, with precise articulation and natural depth. The low range maintains structure and impact even at high volumes, without ever losing definition.
  • Mids: Neutral and transparent, with clean harmonic reproduction and great coherence. Vocals sound natural, fluid, and centered, while acoustic instruments retain body and realism.
  • Highs: Clear and sweet, with airy extension and a complete lack of harshness. Excellent rendition of fine detail, perfect for long listening sessions.
  • Dynamics: progressive and controlled, with precise transients and an energetic but never excessive response.
  • Soundstage: wide, stable and three-dimensional, thanks to the excellent matching between the four valves.

🎧 Use in Hi-Fi Stereo Amplifiers
Perfect for stereo push-pull amplifiers or monoblocks , the 6L6WGB Philips ECG JAN offers an ideal combination of robustness, musicality and silence .
Particularly suitable for systems where tonal balance, transparency and constant dynamic performance over time are required.

🎸 Use in Music Amplifiers
Highly appreciated also in the instrumental field, these tubes offer ample headroom, stable bass and crystal clear mid-highs , with a progressive and musical harmonic distortion.
Ideal for Fender, Mesa Boogie and boutique amps , where consistent matching ensures balanced performance and long life.
