USN 6922 AMPEREX USA Gold Pin D Getter – Hicksville NY 1960 – Military Grade – Amplitrex Tested

Description:

This USN 6922 AMPEREX , produced at the Hicksville (New York) plant in 1960 (glass code 7L40C ), is a military version intended for the US Navy, built to more stringent specifications than civilian production.

This is a genuine Amperex Electronic Corp. USA production, with:

  • Gold Pins
  • Getter a D
  • Typical 1960s Hicksville interior construction
  • Original USN markings

Valve selected, individually tested and also verified for microphony.

Sound Characteristics

The US military 6922s have a different sound signature than the European Philips/Heerlen productions.

Bass: Compact, controlled, with excellent articulation and a sense of stability.

Mids: Clean, slightly more neutral than Dutch counterparts, with good vocal intelligibility.

Highs: Defined but not aggressive, with an orderly brilliance typical of the American school.

Dynamics: Fast, with good ability to follow micro-variations in the signal.

Soundstage: Precise and well-centered, with stable imaging.

It is a balanced, reliable valve, suitable for those looking for solidity rather than marked romanticism.

🎧 Use in Hi-Fi Amplifiers

Ideal for:

  • MM/MC phono stages
  • Tube DACs
  • Headphone amplifiers with single 6922
  • Line preamplifiers
  • Guitar amplifiers (also V1)

Its low microphony makes it suitable even for sensitive circuits.

🎯 Note for audiophiles and technicians

This is not a rebranded European production, but a genuine Amperex USA military Hicksville .

It is a valve for those who are looking for:

  • Robust construction
  • Stability over time
  • Military specifications
  • Real test declared

It is not proposed as a museum collection item, but as a selected component ready for use in high-end systems.

  • ATTENTION PLEASE

Please understand that the writing on the glass of vintage valves has become very delicate over the years and comes off easily. You must handle them with extreme care to avoid this. Wear and damage to the writing on the valves reduces their market value and causes damage. Please exercise extreme caution.
