ECC88 ( 6DJ8 ) GE NOS NIB Halo Getter Matched Pair Tubes Made in USA '62

Description:

The pair of ECC88 produced by General Electric in 1962 , with ring getter (Halo Getter), represents one of the most balanced and versatile American interpretations of this famous double triode. The sound is neutral, controlled and pleasantly musical , with a sound output that favors transparency and detail without ever being tiring.

The bass is well extended and compact , never invasive but present with authority, capable of restoring solidity without compromising speed. The midrange is fluid and balanced, with a natural timbre that makes voices and solo instruments credible and well defined. The highs are airy and delicate , never sharp, and contribute to creating a wide and well-focused soundstage.

Overall, these ECC88 GEs deliver a linear and dynamic tone, suitable for both critical audio applications and more relaxed musical contexts . They are an excellent choice for those looking for a precise but not sterile tube, with a touch of musicality and warmth.

🎧 Use in Headphone Amplifiers

The 1962 ECC88 GE performs excellently in headphone amplifiers, thanks to their low noise floor, smooth dynamic response and neutral yet musical timbre. They are particularly appreciated by those who listen to acoustic genres, classical, jazz or high-resolution recordings, where precision and naturalness of timbre are essential.

The low range is compact and well controlled, ideal for maintaining detail even with high sensitivity headphones. The soundstage is well distributed and coherent, with precise imaging and a good sense of depth. The sound always remains clear and defined, without ever becoming fatiguing even after long listening sessions.

They are particularly recommended for:

  • High-end OTL or Hybrid Tube Amplifiers
  • Pre-phono or DAC with tube stage based on ECC88 / 6DJ8
  • Systems for critical listening in studios or demanding audiophiles

  • ATTENTION PLEASE

Please understand that the writing on the glass of vintage valves has become very delicate over the years and comes off easily. You must handle them with extreme care to avoid this. Wear and damage to the writing on the valves reduces their market value and causes damage. Please exercise extreme caution.
