E88CC ( 6922 ) PHILIPS Special Quality Halo Getter Gold Pin Tube Made in Holland '66

Description:

The E88CC (6922) PHILIPS Special Quality represents one of the highest quality versions of the noval double triode series developed for professional, audio and high-precision instrument applications.
Produced in the PHILIPS plant in Heerlen (Holland) in January 1966 , this valve belongs to the SQ (Special Quality) selection, made with criteria of long life, electrical stability and low microphonics, intended for critical uses in measuring instruments, broadcast equipment and high-end hi-fi preamplifiers.
The construction with grey plates , halo getters and gold feet testifies to the Dutch company's attention to the reliability and purity of the electrical contact, reducing oxidation and improving signal transmission over time.
The specimen described here has been tested on Amplitrex AT-1000 with STRONG result, guarantee of full efficiency and linear behavior on both sections.

Sound Characteristics
Bass: precise, taut and quick in response, with excellent holding even in complex passages.
Mids: silky, transparent, and natural; voices are present but never intrusive, with a typically “neutral” and musical timbre.
Highs: extended, bright, and free of harshness. The balance between detail and sweetness is exemplary, in the best Heerlen tradition.
Dynamic: lively and proportionate, capable of rendering micro-contrasts with great fluidity.
Soundstage: wide, stable and three-dimensional, with excellent channel separation and depth of field.

🎧 Use in Hi-Fi Stereo Amplifiers
Ideal for high-end preamplifiers, DACs, phono stages and driver circuits where neutrality and tonal accuracy are critical.
Excellent compatibility with Conrad Johnson, Audio Research, Counterpoint, EAR, Copland, and other European school systems.

🎸 Use in Music Amplifiers
It is also highly appreciated in professional tube preamplifiers and heads, where it offers a detailed and noise-free sound, with a perfect balance between clarity and harmonic warmth.

🎯 Note for Audiophiles and Technicians
The acronym “E88CC / 6922 Special Quality” identifies a long-life version (over 10,000 hours), with reinforced grille, gold-plated feet and selected tolerances.
The Heerlen 1966 production is among the most sought after for its sonic balance and impeccable construction, becoming a reference for those who want a transparent, precise and musically refined valve.

  • ATTENTION PLEASE

Please understand that the writing on the glass of vintage valves has become very delicate over the years and comes off easily. You must handle them with extreme care to avoid this. Wear and damage to the writing on the valves reduces their market value and causes damage. Please exercise extreme caution.
