12AY7 / 6072 TUNG-SOL NOS NIB Gray Plates Square Getter – Made in USA

AMPLITREX Tested – STRONG – Same Data Codes

The price refers to one selected tube

Description:

These 12AY7 Tung-Sol NOS NIB tubes are a splendid testament to vintage American manufacturing, featuring Gray Plates and Square Getter construction, characteristics highly valued by audiophiles and musicians seeking an authentic, musical, and highly characterful 12AY7 tube.

The two available tubes have the same manufacturing codes and original Tung-Sol boxes. They are not offered as a matched pair but sold individually, allowing the customer to purchase a carefully selected, tested, and verified NOS tube.

Each unit has been tested on an AMPLITREX AT-1000 Tube Tester and yielded a STRONG result, with stable emission and values fully suitable for use in audio and musical applications.

Sonic Description

The 12AY7 Tung-Sol offers a refined, dynamic, and natural sonic signature, with lower gain than the 12AX7 and a particularly balanced response. It is an ideal tube when more control, greater headroom, and a less aggressive but detail-rich presentation are desired.

Bass
Controlled, dry, and well-articulated. They provide a solid foundation without weighing down the sonic message.

Mids
Natural, musical, and very legible. Vocals and acoustic instruments maintain a credible presence, with beautiful harmonic richness.

Highs
Clean and open, with good extension and no harshness. The rendition remains elegant and pleasant even during prolonged listening.

Dynamics
Smooth and reactive, with excellent transient handling. The tube responds progressively and controllably, a very useful characteristic in both hi-fi and guitar amplifiers.

Soundstage
Orderly, airy, and well-focused, with good instrument separation and a stable sound scene.

🎧 Use in Hi-Fi Amplifiers

In hi-fi applications, the 12AY7 Tung-Sol is suitable for compatible circuits that require a low-noise, musical, and well-controlled tube. It can offer a more relaxed and natural presentation compared to higher-gain tubes, while maintaining excellent definition and great tonal balance.

🎸 Use in Musical Amplifiers

In guitar amplifiers, the 12AY7 is highly valued for reducing gain in preamp stages, increasing headroom, and achieving a more dynamic and controllable response. Tung-Sol production adds body, naturalness, and a pleasant vintage softness.

🎯 Note for Audiophiles and Technicians

The price refers to a single selected tube. The available tubes share the same manufacturing codes but are sold individually and not as a matched pair.

A highly appealing Tung-Sol NOS NIB selection, designed for those who desire an authentic American 12AY7, tested and ready to offer a balanced, musical, and rich vintage sound.
