Description

12AX7 / ECC83 GE – General Electric NOS tube, Made in USA production, selected for compatible hi-fi and musical applications where construction quality, stability, and low noise are important factors.

The construction features Short Gray Plates, a 9-pin miniature glass envelope, and a top Halo Getter, a typical configuration of vintage American GE production. The 12AX7 code and U.S.A. marking are still legible on the glass; the silk-screening shows normal wear from long vintage storage. The tube is supplied with protective Vacuum Tubes Treasures packaging. See photos for aesthetic details.

This tube has been tested on an Amplitrex AT-1000 Tube Tester and has been selected as Low Noise & Microphonics, a characteristic particularly important for preamplifiers, line stages, drivers, and compatible phono applications.

Sonically, it offers a balanced, clean, and concrete sound, with controlled bass, clear and legible mids, orderly highs, and a stable presentation. The character is typical of an American GE 12AX7: reliable, focused, and musically balanced.

Tube tested on AMPLITREX AT-1000 Tube Tester:

  • Test Conditions: Va = 250V ; Vg = -2V
  • Average 100%: Gm = 1600 ; Ia = 1.2 mA
  • Test Result: VERY STRONG

Tube :

  • Section 1: Gm = 1600 ; Ia = 1.3 mA
  • Section 2: Gm = 1700 ; Ia = 1.5 mA
Additional Tests Performed:
  • Microphonics: Low. Tested and suitable for use in hi-fi and guitar amplifiers, even in V1.
  • Balance: The sections are consistent and well-aligned, making the tube suitable for use as a phase inverter in hi-fi and instrumental applications.
  • Emission Quality: Excellent – Very strong and stable emission, without fluctuations.
  • Shorts and GAS: Absent.
