12AU7WA / CV4003 / 6189 Heinz & Kauffman Triple Mica Black Plates Square Getter Made in USA

Ultra Low Noise & Microphonics – Series “Gammatron”

Description:

This 12AU7WA / CV4003 Heinz & Kauffman – “Gammatron” production , made in the United States and intended for highly reliable military and industrial applications, represents one of the most valuable and difficult to find versions of the 12AU7WA family. The construction with triple mica , black plates and square getter immediately highlights its superior standard: maximum resistance to vibration, extremely low microphonics and extraordinary electrical stability.
The unit was tested with the Amplitrex AT-1000 in our lab, reporting STRONG results, fully compliant with high-end hi-fi applications, professional preamplifiers, studio equipment and circuits requiring a robust, quiet and linear tube. A reference choice for those seeking the highest levels of build quality and tone.

Sound Characteristics
The 12AU7WA “Gammatron” delivers a clear, authoritative, and artifact-free tone. The triple mica and black plate combination delivers an ideal balance of body, transparency, and refinement, delivering a consistently stable and consistent sound even in complex configurations.

  • Bass
Clean, controlled, and well-defined lows. No bloat, excellent weight and definition. The response remains solid even with dynamic music or dense recordings.
  • Medium
Rich, natural, and very musical. Voices emerge with material realism, while acoustic and jazz instruments display a fine and believable harmonic texture. The mids are never dull, never aggressive.
  • High
Smooth, bright, and well-extended. No harshness, no annoying peaks: refined, airy highs with excellent micro-detail. Elegant and consistently pleasant timbre.
  • Dynamics
Superior responsiveness: quick engagement, precise release, excellent control even under variable load conditions. The valve maintains exemplary linearity under dynamic changes.
  • Soundstage
Organized, wide, and deep soundstage. Excellent instrument separation, stable and balanced imaging. The "Gammatron" contributes to a clean and credible soundstage, ideal for critical listening.

🎧 Use in Hi-Fi Stereo Amplifiers
Excellent in tube preamps, driver sections of push-pull or single-ended amplifiers, tube-based DACs, and high-end equipment requiring quiet operation and tonal balance. Perfect for jazz, classical, acoustic, and high-resolution listening.
An absolute top-notch 12AU7WA for premium systems.

🎸 Use in Music Amplifiers
It's a great driver tube in boutique guitar amplifiers, providing headroom, clarity, responsiveness, and a rich, organic midrange. It's also excellent in studio environments, vintage microphone preamps, and professional rack units.

🎯 Note for audiophiles and technicians
The 12AU7WA Heinz & Kauffman Gammatron production is considered one of the most solid and musical interpretations of the 12AU7WA series, thanks to the combination of triple mica , black plates , square getter and high-end industrial selection.
This example is Amplitrex Tested – STRONG , and comes in our certified packaging with a tamper-proof seal. This is a rare, prestigious tube, particularly prized by collectors and enthusiasts of quality vintage USA.
