Description:

Matched pair of 12AU7A / ECC82 NOS Baldwin by Sylvania, Made in USA 1963 production, selected for compatible hi-fi and musical applications where channel consistency, low noise, and operational stability are important elements.

Baldwin-branded tubes were intended for quality musical and professional applications, particularly electronic organs, where reliability, operational continuity, and consistent sound performance were fundamental requirements. In this case, the production is attributable to Sylvania Electric Products Inc., with Long Gray Plates and Halo Getter construction, typical of American production in the early 1960s.

The tubes are in NOS – New Old Stock condition, with a well-preserved internal structure and consistent construction between the two specimens. See photos for aesthetic details.

The pair has been tested and selected using an Amplitrex AT-1000 Tube Tester as a Matched Pair, with particular attention to low noise, contained microphonics, and consistency between the two tubes.

From a sonic perspective, it offers a natural, balanced, and musical performance, with well-structured bass, warm mids rich in harmonics, and sweet, well-defined highs. The presentation is fluid, stable, and pleasant, with the typical character of Sylvania Long Gray Plates: soft, controlled, and authentically vintage.

Suitable for preamplifiers, line stages, drivers, integrated amplifiers, tube buffers, and circuits compatible with 12AU7 / ECC82. Also usable in musical and studio applications where low noise, stability, and natural harmonic response are required.

Tube tested on AMPLITREX AT-1000 Tube Tester:

  • Average 100%: Gm = 2200; Ia = 10.5 mA
  • Test Result: VERY STRONG
