12AU7 ( ECC82 ) RAYTHEON Long Black Plates Square Getter Tested Tube Made in USA '58

Description:

The 12AU7/ECC82 RAYTHEON with long black plates and square getter , produced in the United States in 1958 , is one of the most refined and sought-after versions of this medium-gain double triode. The long black plate construction is typical of the best American production of the late 1950s and gives this tube a solid, deep and particularly musical sonic personality.

The unit has been carefully tested in our laboratory and passed the tests with a VERY STRONG result, demonstrating excellent electrical performance. The tube is also balanced , with very low noise and microphonics , making it suitable even for sensitive circuit positions.

Sound Characteristics

Bass: Full-bodied, full, and well-articulated. The bass is authoritative yet controlled, with a sense of depth that gives solidity to the entire range.

Mids: This Raytheon's strong point. The mids are dense, natural, and nuanced, with vocals rendered with exceptional credibility and substance.

Highs: Smooth and well-integrated, never aggressive. The high end is present but well-mannered, allowing for extended listening without fatigue.

Dynamics: Smooth and composed. Transient response is natural, with a smooth progression that prioritizes musicality over artificial impact.

Soundstage: Stable and well-proportioned soundstage, with excellent instrument separation and precise focus.

🎧 Use in Hi-Fi Amplifiers

Ideal as a line valve, driver, or preamp stage in high-quality hi-fi amplifiers and preamps. Its low noise and good balance also make it suitable for high-resolution systems.

🎸 Use in Music Applications

Also appreciated in the musical field for its warm and controlled character, perfect where a balanced response and a rich harmonic output are desired.

🎯 Note for audiophiles and technicians

  • produced in the USA in 1958,
