12AU7 / ECC82 Baldwin by TOSHIBA – Matched Pair – Long Gray Plates – D Getter – Made in Japan

Amplitrex Tested – STRONG – Ultra Low Noise – Low Microphonics

Description

Matched pair of 12AU7 / ECC82 Baldwin by Toshiba, Made in Japan production, selected for compatible hi-fi and musical applications where tonal balance, low noise, and channel consistency are required.

The tubes feature an internal construction with Long Gray Plates and D Getter, a highly appealing configuration in Toshiba's Japanese production of the era, appreciated for construction precision, internal order, and operational reliability.

The Baldwin brand identifies a supply intended for organ and musical applications, where stability, operational continuity, and low noise were fundamental requirements. The pair comes from the same manufacturing batch and has been selected as a Matched Pair using an Amplitrex AT-1000 Tube Tester.

The internal VTT classification is STRONG, with very consistent values between the two tubes, Ultra Low Noise, Low Microphonics, and Burning OK. The aesthetic conditions are excellent, with very nice and well-preserved silk screening, a well-cared-for overall appearance, and a strong visual presence. See photos for details.

Sonically, it offers a clean, balanced, and very orderly reproduction, with controlled bass, clear and natural mids, and open, non-harsh highs. The overall character is precise, stable, and musical, easily integrated into various hi-fi systems.

Suitable for preamplifiers, line stages, buffers, driver stages, phase inverters, integrated amplifiers, and circuits compatible with 12AU7 / ECC82. The Ultra Low Noise and Low Microphonics selection also makes it particularly interesting in sensitive applications.

A Baldwin by Toshiba Made in Japan pair truly tested and selected by Vacuum Tubes Treasures, ideal for those seeking silent, stable, well-built, and musically balanced vintage 12AU7 / ECC82 tubes.
