12AU7 / ECC82 Amperex NOS NIB tube, produced in the historic Heerlen, Holland plant in 1962, selected for compatible hi-fi applications where tonal balance, electrical consistency, and sonic refinement are important elements.

The construction features Short Gray Plates and Large Halo Getter, typical of Philips/Amperex Dutch production of the early 1960s, a period particularly appreciated by enthusiasts for its build quality, musicality, and reliability.

The specimen is NOS NIB – New Old Stock, New In Box, never used, supplied in its original box. See photos for aesthetic details.

The tube has been tested in our laboratory using an Amplitrex AT-1000 Tube Tester. The internal sections are balanced, with a difference contained around 5%, a positive detail for operational stability and consistency in compatible circuits.

Sonically, it offers a refined, open, and natural sound, with precise and controlled bass, transparent and musical mids, airy and well-defined highs. The presentation is smooth, orderly, and three-dimensional, with the typical character of Heerlen production: detail, naturalness, and absence of artificiality.

Suitable for line preamplifiers, driver stages, phase inverters, integrated amplifiers, studio equipment, and circuits compatible with 12AU7 / ECC82. Particularly interesting for systems where balance, micro-detail, and vintage European musicality are desired.

Tube tested on AMPLITREX AT-1000 Tube Tester:

  • Test Conditions: Va = 250V, Vg = -8.5V
  • Average 100%: Gm = 2200; Ia = 10.5 mA
  • Test Result: VERY STRONG

Tube:

  • Section 1: Gm = 1900; Ia = 9.2 mA
  • Section 2: Gm = 2000; Ia = 10.4 mA

Additional Tests performed:

  • Microphonics: Low. Tested and suitable for hi-fi use, including phono stages and guitar amplifiers. Also suitable for V1.
  • Emission Quality: Excellent – Very strong and stable emission, without fluctuations.
  • Shorts and GAS: Absent.
