JAN 6922 NOS AMPEREX USA – Gold Pin – Large Halo Getter – Made in USA, late 1960s production, Hicksville era

Description:

This 6922 / E88CC JAN AMPEREX is an authentic late 1960's American production, made in the USA during the Hicksville period.

The construction with Large Halo Getter , gold pins and JAN (Joint Army Navy) military marking identifies a selected version compliant with more stringent specifications than the standard consumer 6DJ8.

The internal structure, typically American, highlights:

  • Sturdy and well-sized plates
  • Solid internal supports
  • Thick and stable mica
  • Construction oriented towards reliability and durability

The tube is NOS (New Old Stock) and tested on Amplitrex AT-1000 with STRONG result, perfectly balanced sections.

Very well balanced sections, 100% conductance, stable electrical behavior.

Sound Characteristics

Bass: Solid and well-structured. The low end is fuller than European Heerlen productions, with greater density and control.

Mids: Natural and full, with a slightly more textured sound than the classic European "bright" sound. Excellent vocal reproduction and credible timbre.

Highs: Extended but never aggressive. The top end is clean, with fine grain and good micro-information.

Dynamics: Very stable and linear. Excellent transient response, consistent behavior even in high-resolution systems.

Soundstage: Well anchored and realistic scene, with good depth and correct separation of the sound planes.

🎧 Use in Hi-Fi Amplifiers

Ideal for:

  • Quality phono stages
  • Line stage preamplifiers
  • Tube DACs
  • Headphone amplifiers

The JAN version is particularly appreciated for its stability and silence.

🎯 Note for audiophiles and technicians

  • American production late 60s
  • Military version JAN
  • Gold pins
  • Large halo getter
  • Amplitrex test documented
  • Balanced sections
  • Robust and reliable construction

A select American 6922, designed for those who want a balanced, stable sound with more body than the European variants.
