Description

A prized pair of 6SN7GTB RCA Silver Logo tubes, manufactured in the United States in 1960 and featuring the classic Black Plates with D Getter construction. Both tubes bear the same manufacturing code LS, a particularly interesting detail for those seeking a matched pair in terms of period and production.

This configuration belongs to the historic RCA American production of the early 1960s, highly regarded for its robust construction, reliability, and sound quality. The Black Plates paired with the D Getter represent one of the most recognizable and sought-after constructions in the RCA 6SN7 family.

The tubes have been thoroughly tested in our laboratory using the Amplitrex AT-1000 Tube Tester, achieving a STRONG classification. Both tested Low Noise & Microphonics, with consistent emission and internal sections sufficiently balanced for use in high-quality audio applications.

Sonically, RCA Black Plate tubes are known for their full and natural reproduction, with solid and controlled bass, rich and present mids, smooth yet defined highs, and a wide and stable soundstage. The overall character is musical, full-bodied, and refined, typical of the best vintage RCA productions.

Ideal for hi-fi preamplifiers, driver stages, phase splitters, headphone amplifiers, and equipment compatible with 6SN7GT / 6SN7GTB.

The tubes are used, thoroughly tested, and fully functional. The cosmetic condition is good, with partially faded but still legible silk-screening and normal signs of age.

An interesting pair of authentic RCA 6SN7GTB Black Plates from 1960, truly tested and selected by Vacuum Tubes Treasures.
