Description:

This General Electric 5Y3GT NOS, manufactured in the United States in the 17th week of 1958, is an authentic American rectifier from the golden age of tube production. The construction with gray plates, characteristic D getter, GT bulb and octal base reflects the robustness and construction accuracy traditionally associated with General Electric tubes.

The test performed on the Funke W19 detected values of 90 mA and 87 mA, both clearly above the 100% average. The result confirms a very strong, stable, and even emission, particularly significant for a tube produced over sixty years ago and preserved in excellent electrical condition.

The difference of only 3 mA between the two sections also highlights an excellent internal balance, an important feature for achieving uniform rectification and reliable power supply operation. Additional checks confirmed the complete absence of short circuits and gas.

The 5Y3GT is a full-wave rectifier used in the power supplies of numerous guitar amplifiers, radio devices, hi-fi systems, and vintage tube electronics. It can also be used in equipment designed for the equivalent 5Z2P rectifier, after verifying the manufacturer's specifications.

The original markings GE Electronic Tube, the EIA code 188 and the production code of 1958 clearly document its American General Electric origin. A NOS tube that combines proven origin, fine vintage construction with a D getter, emission well above average, and well-balanced sections: a quality choice for careful restorations and compatible tube equipment.

Sales Terms & Product Safety

Each vacuum tube is carefully selected, tested, and verified in our laboratory before shipment. Where stated in the listing, test results, matching data, and declared characteristics refer to measurements performed using the specified test equipment and operating conditions.

Sound descriptions are provided for guidance only and reflect the characteristics generally associated with that particular tube type. Personal sound preferences, tube rolling, or perceived differences between audio systems do not constitute a product defect.

Before installation, please verify the tube’s electrical and mechanical compatibility with your equipment and follow the manufacturer’s instructions.

New production and NOS tubes are shipped with a tamper-evident security seal and internal technical documentation to ensure traceability of the product’s condition at the time of shipment.

Product Safety (GPSR)

Vacuum tubes are electronic components intended exclusively for use in compatible equipment and must be installed in accordance with the equipment manufacturer’s instructions.

Due to their historical or vintage nature, certain technical specifications may be based on original datasheets or equivalent technical documentation when documentation from the specific manufacturer is unavailable.

  • ATTENTION PLEASE

Please understand that the writing on the glass of vintage valves has become very delicate over the years and comes off easily. You must handle them with extreme care to avoid this. Wear and damage to the writing on the valves reduces their market value and causes damage. Please exercise extreme caution.
