ECC88 / 6DJ8 Heerlen Δ9E (Philips Production) – D Getter – Matched Pair – Made in Holland '50s

Description:

This matched pair of ECC88/6DJ8 produced by Philips Heerlen (Δ9E) belongs to the first production phase of the Dutch factory, recognizable by the three-symbol code and the internal structure with D-shaped getters , typical of the older versions.

The original silkscreen is no longer present, but the codes engraved in the glass consistently confirm Heerlen production.

The valves are used, in sound structural condition, with normal patina consistent with age.

Tested in our laboratory on Amplitrex AT-1000 , they are classified as: GOOD

The matching between the two units is functional and consistent for non-critical uses.

Sound Character

Bass: Linear and controlled, without emphasis. Correct and natural reproduction.

Mids: Open and transparent, with good intelligibility of voices and typical Philips Heerlen timbre setting.

Highs: Sweet and balanced. The top end is not aggressive and maintains a fine texture.

Dynamics: Progressive and smooth. Ideal for those seeking a less aggressive and more organic ride.

Soundstage: Coherent and uncluttered, with proper instrument separation.

🎧 Use in Hi-Fi Amplifiers

Suitable for preamplifiers, line stages, and vintage equipment where a balanced, not overly bright, output is desired. Not intended for high-end selections or applications requiring high output.

🎸 Use in Music Applications

Interesting in instrument circuits and contexts where a softer and more progressive response is appreciated, with natural compression.

🎯 Note for audiophiles and technicians

  • Authentic Philips Heerlen production (Δ9E)
  • D Getter first phase
  • Vintage 50s
  • Functional Matched Pair

A pair that offers the charm of older Heerlen production in an accessible configuration, designed for those who appreciate the historical and sonic character beyond pure numerical performance, in true Vacuum Tubes Treasures style.

  • ATTENTION PLEASE

Please understand that the writing on the glass of vintage valves has become very delicate over the years and comes off easily. You must handle them with extreme care to avoid this. Wear and damage to the writing on the valves reduces their market value and causes damage. Please exercise extreme caution.
