ECC88 / 6DJ8 HEWLETT PACKARD – Heerlen Δ2L3 – Disc Dimpled Getter – Matched Pair – VERY LOUD – Made in Holland '60s

Description:

This matched pair of Hewlett Packard branded ECC88/6DJ8s , produced in the historic Heerlen (Holland) plant in the early 1960s (identical codes Δ2L3), represents a high-level industrial selection of the famous European double triode.

The disc dimpled getter construction is typical of Heerlen production of the period, synonymous with construction precision, electrical consistency and reliability over time.

The valves are used, in good aesthetic condition and consistent with their age, with no structural alterations.
The presence of the Hewlett Packard brand adds an element of technical interest, as these valves were originally intended for instrumental and laboratory applications.

Tested in our lab on the Amplitrex AT-1000 , they are rated VERY STRONG. Matching is consistent and stable, with uniform electrical behavior between the two units.

Sound Characteristics

Bass: Precise, controlled, and well-structured. They provide a solid foundation without artificial bloat, maintaining articulation and definition.

Mids: Transparent and natural. The midrange is linear, with excellent clarity of vocals and correct harmonic reproduction of acoustic instruments.

Highs: Clean, extended, and well-finished. The top end is airy yet composed, with a fine grain typical of the Heerlen school.

Dynamics: Lively and well-supported. Excellent microdynamics and prompt transient response, with always controlled behavior.

Soundstage: Stable and three-dimensional. Good separation of sound planes and precise focus.

🎧 Use in Hi-Fi Amplifiers

Ideal for medium-high and high quality preamplifiers, line stages, tube DACs and headphone amplifiers.
Particularly suitable for those seeking neutrality, precision and operational stability.

🎸 Use in Technical and Musical Applications

The Hewlett Packard branding suggests a selection intended for measurement and laboratory contexts.
Also excellent for professional equipment and studios where stability and consistency are essential.

🎯 Note for audiophiles and technicians

  • Authentic production Amperex Heerlen (Δ2L3 identical)
  • Original 60s
